WORSHIP

The Diocese of Bridgeport has additional requirements for Lectors & Eucharistic Ministers.

USHERS

Greet people at the entrance doors, are responsible for collecting and safeguarding the offertory, and hand out bulletins at the conclusion of Mass. Yours will be the first friendly face people will see upon entering the church.

LECTORS

Participate in the Mass as readers of the Holy Scripture. Each Lector will be nominated by the Pastor to the Bishop. Ongoing classes with the Diocese at the Institute for Catholic Formation are required. Upon completion of the requirements, you will receive a letter of authorization from the Bishop which will allow you to serve in your parish for a period of three years. (www.formationreimagined.org) Scheduling is done monthly with ample time to let the Ministry Head know your availability. It is posted on our website and emailed to all participants as soon as it is completed.

EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS OF THE EUCHARIST

CHOIR

Our Choir sings weekly at the 11:30 am Sunday Mass with rehearsals from 10:45am to 11:15am on Sunday.

Special holiday rehearsals (Christmas and Easter) are typically scheduled for Thursday evenings.

ADULT ALTAR SERVERS

Assist our priest at funerals on an as needed basis.

ALTAR SERVERS

Assist our priest during weekend masses. Open to anyone in the 4th grade through high school. You will be trained by one of our priests, and work with one of our existing servers so you will be comfortable with the procedure on the Altar.

YOUTH WORSHIP

YOUTH CHOIR & YOUTH ORCHESTRA

Performs on Christmas and Easter with special rehearsals called by the Music Director usually after school on a Thursday.

PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY

Since the group’s founding in 2005, members have knitted and crocheted with much love and prayers over 1500 shawls. These shawls are given as free gifts to those who are grieving, sick, suffering or just needing to feel God’s love and for joyous occasions.

Located in the basement of the parish center, our shop sells donated items in new or good condition. Items are sorted and priced. It is an important source of revenue for the parish.

BEREAVEMENT MINISTRY

Members provide comfort to the families of our deceased parishioners as they journey through the grieving process by sending letters of sympathy, making follow-up telephone calls, etc..  They also organize our monthly Mass of Remembrance for all deceased parishioners, but especially for those who have died the previous month.

FINANCIAL ADVISORY COUNCIL

Members are chosen by the pastor to advise and assist with the management of the financial business of the parish. The council meets at the request of the pastor to review the operating budget and cash flow of the parish.
